Due to their unique position in the primary schedule, New Hampshire voters have many opportunities to hear and meet the presidential candidates. Primary Place Online, a citizen journalism and discussion site sponsored by New Hampshire Public Radio, allows the citizens of one typical town, Exeter, to share their impressions and thoughts about candidate appearances using blogs, images, and video. Visitors, referred by public radio station affiliates from across the country, can participate in the dialog as well using the "Questions For Candidates" forums.

ChicagoAncestors.org allows users to "discover the past by address." Historical records culled from several organizations, including the Newberry Library, Chicago Historical Society, as well as hundreds of churches and schools, are viewed using an interactive mashup-style Google Map. Information about people, places, and events through Chicago, including user-submitted locations and photographs, can be viewed in their proper historical and geographical contexts.
