CTC helps organize Penguin Day New Orleans!

inflatable penguinCTC members Jim, Nick, Dave C., and Dave E. recently headed down to the Big Easy as CTC helped organize the Penguin Day New Orleans open source advocacy event. The event, facilitated by the one and only Gunner from Aspiration, was a day full of sharing and learning as open source enthusiasts, advocates, and nonprofit staff from around the country converged. Never been to a Penguin Day? From the Aspiration Tech website:

At local Penguin Days non-profit organizations explore the range of issues and options involved using Free and Open Source Software (F/OSS).

We, of course, spent some time sharing our excitement about nonprofit use of the Drupal content management system. Accordingly, we also learned a lot about the core functionality and supporting community of the Joomla CMS from our friends at PICnet. As at any Penguin Day, almost as much learning and sharing went on in the post-convergence pub session as happened during the event proper... thanks to our new friends at the Three Legged Dog Tavern!

Penguin Day New Orleans was co-organized by Aspiration, NOSI, Joomla!, PICnet, and CTC.
