CTC goes to Drupalcon Boston 2008!
The entire CTC team traveled to Boston last week - by van - to attend the 2008 North American Drupalcon! In addition to being Gold sponsors of the event, CTC members Brandon Bergren, Jim Craner, and Rebecca White presented a session about the status and future of Drupal as a geographical information system (GIS) platform.
This was the first Drupalcon for everyone on the team and we had a great time, both professionally and personally. Being able to interact with other community members outside the confines of an IRC channel or a g.d.o forum was tremendous. The excitement in the convention center - overflowing with happy Drupal vibes - was palpable and inspired us: Drupal's future, as outlined by Dries, looks bright.
The Boston trip was also a great way for us to grow together as a team - 20 hours locked in a van with your teammates will do that to you. We finally got to meet our newest programmer, Rebecca, in person. We also scheduled some team retreat time after the conference to relax and discuss internal issues. As a team that spends so much time working remotely, every hour together is really appreciated!
Check back soon for some more pictures and notes about the conference!
CTC dissolved in 2010 and its members moved on to other nonprofit technology, website development, and application development opportunities. Nonprofit organizations seeking website assistance can contact Jim Craner or Jacob Roufa. Employers seeking to verify employment of former CTC members can use this form.
